The Faulkners of Nashville, Tennessee are asking everyone to pray for their 7 year-old daughter, Sarah, who was paralyzed in a freak swimming August 6th. According to WZTV, the occurred at Hurricane Creek at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Tennessee, when a teenager jumping from a 30 foot high rock landed on the little girl’s back.
“She said when the girl landed on her back that her whole body froze, and she her head on the bottom of the creek and evidently drove her all the way to the bottom,” said Tre Faulkner, Sarah’s father.
“And she said, ‘Daddy, my whole body froze, and I couldn’t move my arms, then my arm started working again, and I swam to the top and started screaming.” The left Sarah paralyzed from the lower chest down and having to have 19 staples placed in her skull.
WZTV also reported that Sarah’s resulted in a direct conversation between her parents and her doctor.
“I said, ‘Sir, man to man, just tell me the truth. Will she ever walk again?’” Faulkner asked. “No, I do not believe so, but there is something out there more powerful than me.” The Faulkners believe the latter.
Their strong Christian faith leads them to believe that God is the answer. “I believe God can and will heal my daughter, I need a miracle” Faulkner said. “My wife needs a miracle. My children need a miracle. You need a miracle. Our country needs a miracle to show that God is real and God is alive.” Faulkner believes that God is using this “evil, to bring glory to Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of the world, and the solution for all of our problems.”
As for the teenager who is responsible, the family remains strong in their Christian faith. “And I asked her what she thought we should do with this girl, And she said we should forgive. And so we literally prayed for the girl. We can’t imagine the kind of pain she is going through right now,” said Faulkner. “And what we want to do as a family is we want to be used by God to express the same type of love that Jesus did when he hung on the cross for the world.” Prayers have poured in not only from the states, but worldwide. Ironically, one of the most powerful prayers the family received came from an atheist in Germany.
The woman wrote: “I don’t believe in God, and I’m not really good in these prayer things — especially not since my firstborn daughter without any reason.
But today, I was praying to whoever and whatever there may be for a full recovery.” Job 14:7, ESV, states: “For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its will not cease.” This is the same hope that the Faulkners have. While Sarah may be paralyzed, there is hope through Jesus that she will walk again. The little girl’s progress is being documented on the family’s page.

Bless her heart thank God she has praying parents n others around the world I to pray for her recovery we have a strong father in heaven who can heal anyone who will belive I know he did for me I wasn't expected to live n proved the doctors wrong I was called a mirical nothing less you see I had a brain stem anurisums that were large no garrentee to live fell into a coma bleed out lost all my blood cause n artery was clipped was sent for second surgery to find the bleeder it was found some damage was left to my leg but I'm living proof myself knowing others didn't make it I was left with little hope but I survived the surgeon said I'm a walking mirical it's amazing I'm still here so keep believing something good is going to happen God bless this family
