A gut-wrenching image that shows a 15-year-old boy who is suffering from terminal comfort his sobbing brother after telling him that his life is going to end soon has left many people on the internet in tears.
The teen, named Ian, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma - a type of bone - in 2019. After undergoing and months of chemotherapy, his family rejoiced when they learned that he was free. However, in November 2021, they discovered that the disease had not only returned - but that it had also spread throughout his body.
Now, he and his family have been told 'that there is nothing else they could do' and that his life will tragically come to an end 'soon.' When Ian shared the terrible news with his younger brother, Peter, whose age is unknown, he down in tears. As he found out that his sibling's days were numbered, little Peter began weeping in his arms. But Ian, keeping a brave face, consoled him and apologized for not being able to beat . A photo of the touching moment between the two brothers was uploaded to by an Oregon-based man named Benjamin Elliott, whose relation to Ian and Peter is unknown, and it quickly swept the web, leaving many users emotional.
It showed Ian holding his younger brother 'as tight as ever' as the little boy leaned on his chest and cried; Ian could be seen giving Peter a kiss on his forehead.
'Without speaking, this photo conveys a stronger message than words ever will,' Benjamin wrote in the caption. 'This past week, Ian and his family would learn that there was nothing else they could do. 'The that had ravaged his body in the past and he had beat would soon be the same that him.' Benjamin said that Ian began crying after learning that he would soon , but not because he was scared.
'In fact, he was OK with it,' he continued. 'Ian cried because, as he said in his own words, "I only want to do one good thing in the world before I leave you all."' The user added that Ian 'made the choice to tell his friends and his little brother that his would inevitably him' himself, rather than letting his parents share the news. He added: 'I think this picture truly shines the light on the "good" that Ian wanted and believed he needed to share. 'Even in his prognosis, it was Ian who would comfort and console his friends and little brothers.'
Benjamin concluded by explaining that from here on out, Ian said he will not 'sit around ,' but instead, has 'chosen to be busy living until his becomes a reality.' 'While he says he is sad, he also admits he's OK with ,' he wrote. 'The truth is that Ian refuses to live for himself. He chooses only to live for others until the moment he takes his very last breath.' Many people flooded the comment section of the post with their support, with one person writing, 'My heart is shattered.' Another added: 'Man has me on the toilet bawling my eyes out.'
'This brought tears to my eyes and ache in my heart for this young boy. What a remarkable example of tender love and humility,' someone else said.

My darling child you sound like you are a Christian However my concern is your relationship with Jesus Christ. He died for you so that you can live forever. All he asks is that you believe that and that you live by faith in his redemption of you. If you haven’t done this, please ask Jesus to come into your heart and to save your soul. Theres nothing impossible for God young man. If he did miracles in the past he can do miracles today as well. The doctors dont have the last word. Only God does. Give your life to Jesus and ask him to forgive you of your sins and ask him to come into your heart, and you will see miracles and will enter the kingdom of heaven. I was his caretaker and putting on a positive face and attitude that he would beat it and he survived for 2 whole years. Some arent that lucky. It doesnt matter how old you are for your inner child to be so much unbearable pain. I lived it and still feel it to this day! I pray for all those in same position.
I find it hard to erase from my mind how brave this young man is. At fifteen he should be able to look forward to his future, so emotional a picture of him consoling his distraught younger brother. Ian you are a beautiful soul,and inspiration to us all. God bless you.
